WSUS

Hi! all,

1) I have installed WSUS 3.0 into my server but how do I open the web interface? to view the PCs and updates?

2) MYSQL$WSUS is also missing from services.msc

3) I tried to uninstall it but I got this error. I tried to do a screenshot but couldn't paste it. Anyway it says "Error getting file security: E:\WSUS\ GetLastError : 5". How do I solve this?

With version 3.0, you now have to access the WSUS management console via an MMC snap-in (unlike in 2.0 where you have a web front-end as a management console).

I think I have screwed up the WSUS files and system in the server, is there anyway to fix the program or uninstall it and then reinstall it again?

I think the simpler way is to try and manually remove the files from the system and do a clean install of the WSUS. If the server is only hold WSUS, a OS should be done.

Can you try posting the contents of the following log files:

"C:\Program Files\Update Services\LogFiles\WSUSCa_080724_2352.log" and

"C:\Program Files\Update Services\LogFiles\WSUSSetup_080724_2352.log"

Have you tried installing a newer .Net Framework version on this box and reinstalling WSUS afterwards?

Can you try a "cleanup" of your .Net Framework 2.0 SP1 using the cleanup tool from this link? After rebooting the machine, reinstall .Net Framework 2.0 SP1 and try re-running the WSUS setup.

I have installed WSUS 3.0 sp 1 onto my Active Directory Server, when I open up the Window, I notice that no computers are in the Computer list and I also cannot synchronize the WSUS from the internet, is it because of the Cyberoam Firewall, which means I have to configure another port, even though we are already connected to the internet?
