    General Code of Conduct **Please Read**

    Please read the following code of conduct for this user group. As a member of the group, we will abide by the following principles. Let's just say we do not want any single person to use the group to furthur his own agenda. Yes, we will get all members to sign the code of conduct. You have signed this document by setting up your account. Should you disagree, please email the administrator for removal of your account immediately.

    The Singapore Windows User Group (SWUG) is committed to maintaining high standards of honesty, integrity and conduct in all of its operations: with members, individuals, community organizations, and with businesses.

    In order to uphold these standards, as a Member of SWUG, I agree to

    • Comply with all of SWUG's bylaws and policies.
    • Treat all SWUG Members with respect and courtesy at all times.
    • Refrain from discrimination towards any other individual with regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or military status. 
    • Refrain from using the Group name or logo without the expressed written permission of the Group Manager/Representative.
    • Work to further the status of IT professionals in the community.
    • Strive to contribute to meetings and other group functions in a positive and productive manner.
    • Report to the SWUG any conduct by any of the group’s members or leaders which is illegal or unethical in its dealings with other members or organizations or businesses.
    • Maintain a high degree of integrity within the Group and within the community.
    • Abide by copyright, trademark, and licensing laws and regulations with regards to software, patents, copyrights, license agreements, and other property rights.
    • This group will only work if everyone shares, so please share.
    • Information released by individual members reflect their own views. Views expressed by members, SWUG will not be held responsible.
    • Information on this site are provided as is. No support will by provided by the SWUG committee.

    In the event that I violate this Code of Conduct, I understand that my membership in SWUG may be reviewed and possibly revoked.

    Should you disagree, immediately inform the group admin and immediately discontinue use of your account in SWUG.


    Posting Rules:
    SWUG do not have many rules. We want you to enjoy being with this community. However, we ask of you to abide the following guidesline. SWUG do not tolerate any posting that are abusive, racist, sexist or any deroagtory remarks directed to other members. Offensive, obscene or illegal posts is also not permitted. If you are posting an article that you didn't write, but you want to post it here, please include the original link to the article if possible, else give credit to the author.

    Defamation:
    Refrain from posting any statement that is not reliable or untrue. Please be prepared to stand by and be responsible for what you post in SWUG as SWUG Leaders do not actively review or edit postings. Postings that are libelous, harassing, vulgar, or otherwise objectionable may expose you to legal action.

    Disclaimer:
    Please note that SWUG will not be held responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages whatsoever arising from or related to the use of the information contained in SGWINDOWSGROUP.ORG.

    By proceeding to continue being a SWUG member for a period of 3 days since first login, you will have deemed to have read, understood and accepted the above. SWUG Leaders reserve the rights to edit or delete any posting in breach of the above guidelines, or which is, in their discretion, false or inaccurate, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, obsence, illegal, discourteous, or otherwise in violation of any law.

    Advertising:
    SWUG do not allow members to directingly post any message advertising in nature. Only sponsors of the group are permitted to advertise or solicit from members. However, in such a case SWUG members must have / will have benefitted from the advertising. Any direct posting without approval of the group manager or leads will have their posting removed without notice.

    The guideslines may be amended from time to time as deem fit by SWUG Leaders to protect interests of all SWUG Members and the group.
