For those who have downloaded Windows 7 Beta but have not tried. What is holding back you all?

Well, if it is because that you have no spare hardware, please try to use virtual PC SP1 to run! :)

If you are thinking of some software compatibility? Maybe I can share with you all on what I have tried and it works. (Software)

Anyone who have tried may contribute to this post too! So, when Window 7 is really out, one can roughly know if the software can run on it or not. :)

**take note, this is just a guideline and personal test on Windows 7 beta. Once Windows 7 really roll out, some software may really not able to run..

1. Microsoft Office 2007 (Of Cos!! :)

3. Logmein Ignitionn or Web access (However, the agent is not able to run. So no one can manage W7 client through logmein yet)

5. Samsung HSDPA Connection Manager (Singtel Mobile Network)

7. Classic Media Player (Able to run real alternate codec)

8. Softerra LDAP Browser 2.6

I manage to get logmein (Ver. 4.0.784) agent running in my Win7 a few days ago. Tested on managing Win7 through web access. Below are some other software I've tested and working fine till date.

3. VirtalCloneDrive 5.4.11
4. Google Chrome 1.0.145.48
5. Mozilla Firefox 3.0.6

Microsoft One Care do not run on Windows 7...

Oh ya~ We should also mention those that doesn't work for Win7 currently.

Nero and Demon Lite, which I can't remember the version, doesn't seems to run on Win7.

May I suggest we have the first post edited to contain the compiled list of programs (and versions, where possible) that works/doesn't work on Windows 7, followed by the tester (e.g. Desmond | leo1408) so we know who did the testing? Think that would greatly facilitate people who's viewing the topic so they wouldn't have to scroll around the topics to look for the compatability of the programs they wanted.

Also, we could probably have people requesting for the testing of softwares of their interest? I believe we're all more than willing to find out the compatability of the programs or not too right? So since we have Windows 7 installed, we could help them out where we can? :-) That's provided we have the softwares to test them out, of course. ;-)

Lets make it a combine effort.. everyone just copy and paste to add on to the list. :)

Oh FYI, for those who need to do testing for x64, let me know. I'm running 64-bit here. Damn....no printer driver for my network printer. LOL. And someone "indefinitely borrowed" my LifeCam, so I can't test it out.

*Yet to install VS2008....will see if I can install MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 and Secunia's CSI software when I'm free.

Just realized something. How come WinUpdates doesn't install the Service Pack for Expression Blend 2, but installs for Expression Media 2? Hmmm...weird...oh and anyone getting the MSRT tool as an auto=download in 7?
